what the hell is going on?!
what is all of this Locksmith hate and talk of what TaeNy SHOULD be like?
as a Locksmith (and I’d like to think of myself as one of the more reasonably sane ones), I find a mess of other Locksmiths insane and annoying. there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed, but they cross it all the time and then some. I really dislike that the term I pushed forth to being coined as relating to TaeNy shippers is now seen with negative connotations. Locksmith are supposed to be loyal shippers, not warriors of TaeNy, attacking those who don’t ship in attempts to make them believe that the two they worship are actually trying to claw through each other’s privates. the even sadder part is that some take it super seriously, as if there’s some sort of holy book they’re living by after attending morning worship of Taeyeon & Fany.
what really hit a nerve with me was when certain shippers pretended as if Seohyun wasn’t there. I understand the not spazzing over here, because yeah, sure, if you don’t spazz a lot about one member before, you wouldn’t be expected to do the same at another time. the bad part was that she wasn’t even acknowledge by some shippers as an MC. she’s part of your “Kim family,” is she not? although it’s really exciting that, “yay, TaeNy are MCing together!” Seohyun is also there. her outfit may have looked atrocious, but that’s no excuse to avoid her either.
believe it or not, crazy shippers, but Taeyeon and Fany are their own people; they’re nothing like what your insane, stereotypical world has made them become. this is exactly why I can’t stomach TaeNy fics at all… byunTaeng was a joke that a bunch of shippers have twisted in attempts to make it some sort of sick reality. what we do know about Taeyeon is that she’s a little off-beat and weird, doing and saying things that we probably wouldn’t say ourselves. she likes to joke around, but you srs bzns people take everything as fact, and that just ruins the fun in the fandom.
and if you haven’t noticed, Fany’s nowhere near being a damsel in distress who is weak to her byunTaeTae’s overwhelming pervyness. instead, she’s the type of woman who can stand on her own, knows what she wants, and isn’t afraid to get it.
what TaeNy SHOULD be is themselves, because we all know there’s nothing that would change them. and besides, you’ve come along this far in the fandom for a reason - you must like them as they are, or else you would have gone searching for a different fandom to satiate your K-fandom needs.
I can only dream of the day when people would stop with the fighting, stop with the stupidity, and just come together as SONE cos at the end of the day, that’s what most of us truly are.
